Placing an Ad

How do I place an ad?

  1. Register with Earthmart, we just need some details from you and you can start selling.
  2. Click "Place an Ad", login, and follow the steps to place an ad.

Top tips for placing an ad

Categories

  • Choose the right category for your item. Look at what other ads use, and put your ad in the best category.

Photos

  • If you intend to use photos in your ads which we do recomend, consider using your mobile phone as generally phones take a lower resolution photo which means a smaller and quicker file to upload to Earthmart. Or alternativley set your digital camera to its lowest resolution. If you have any problems in this area don't hesitate to contact us for advice.

Description tips

  • Research other ads and look at the description.
  • Keep the description simple and short but include enough information so buyers can get a good idea of exactly what you’re selling and the condition it’s in.
  • Include the brand name, make, model and year of manufacture.
  • List any distinguishing marks or flaws.
  • State what accessories are included in the sale, if any.

How long does my ad stay on EartMart?

Tips for safe buying and selling

  • Never pay in advance to seller that you do not know, and never send the item before you have received the payment. Instead, try to meet in person to make the exchange.
  • Never use money wire transfers, such as Western Union, as these are often difficult to trace.
  • Request the original receipt.
  • Write a purchase agreement.
  • If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and it might be a fraud.
  • Do not reveal bank details or other sensitive information if you are not sure who the receiver is.
  • If you already have become a victim of fraud, report it to the Police.
  • If buying a vehicle, including motorcycles and boats, make sure you do a Revs check to make sure no money is owing on the vehicle. www.revs.nsw.gov.au
